Brazil is a multi-racial nation, and its culture reflects the wide variety of ethnic groups found in the country: Amerindians, Portuguese, Africans, Italians, Germans, Spaniards, Japanese, and Arabs, among others. Portuguese is the official language, and is spoken by most everyone. As the largest country in South America, Brazil is also home to World's largest Catholic population, with over 75% of the general population practicing.
Soccer is tremendously popular, and the national team maintains a storied history of World Cup championships. From its sun drenched beaches to its rivers and jungles, the country's geography is a natural wonder for you to explore! Our AHA homestays are centered in Salvador do Bahia, a pristine 16th century city above the beautiful Bay of All Saints.
